Newby here -- I want to put some of my photos on internet galleries, but would like to "brand them" - put my name on them so they can't be reproduced with out my permission. - I have Photoshop Elements - can anyone direct me on how to do that??
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Bajabuddie and welcome to the Q&A Forum. I haven't used it but perhaps this tutorial will help you. > watermarking
Personally I think if you just keep the resolution down on your web images to something like 800x600 pixels or less there's only a small chance that anyone can produce any really useful images from yours (they just won't look good except at small size).

WOW - Thanks for the prompt reply -- Watermarking is a word I didn't know applied to photo credits --  It's hard to find the answers if you don't even know the right questions to ask...I'm also sure you are right about the sizing.
Muchas Gracias from Baja

Hi Baja,

De nada!

Mike gave you a great suggestion.

I add my name and copyright info to photos using layers. And Adobe Elements is a perfect program to do so.

I add my name and copyright date to almost every photo. Here is an example.

If you don't know anything about layers, you may want to familarize yourself with this fantastic feature. In Elements, you would open your image, click the Text Tool, and type your name and copyright information.  You can change the color of the text, size and font, even the opacity.
