Please help me!  I am a contractor who does work for a photography studio.  I set up a wireless transmitter for Canon cameras at this studio.  The one thing the studio wants is to be able to view the pictures real time as they are snapped.  I can use native xp to do a slide show but it does not show the most current photo.  Can anyone point me in a direction on how to do this in XP or with a 3rd party appication.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!  Thanks!

Hi Brad and welcome to the Q&A Board. While it's not exactly "real time" (a picture must be taken first) but Canon has software for using a camera (Canon of course) tethered to a computer. I am also assuming we are speaking of digital cameras here.Smiley I would expect your pros would have the software already though I'm not sure if EOS Capture is part of the standard software utilities package.  Huh

I'm afraid I haven't tried to use the software so I can't give you first hand knowledge. Perhaps someone who has will stop by and add a bit more info.

Hi Brad!

I will simply add that Nikon and Canon both offer wireless transfer on some of their compact cameras, and as an accessory add-on on most of their DSLR  (I can't remember right now if other brands offer wireless transfer, but I'm sure about these two). I'm not sure exactly how these perform, but it seems logical that those devices come bundled with adequate software so it would be one way worth investigating. Maybe a query directed at  either brand will give you the answer you're looking for.

Good luck!

Yes not actually real time.  Here is the process, take a picture with the camera and then the wireless attached device FTPs the information to the server.  The server has a monitor attached to it where the picture can be previewed.  My only problem is I want the picture to automatically be previewed full screen for each picture I take, so show me the most recently snapped photo.  I actually opened the wireless transmitter and there is no software with it.  I called Canon also but they did not know of a software to do this.

Sounds like what you'd like to have is a computer software that detects the most recent picture updated and displays it. then it's not really a camera issue (even more so if the wireless connexion works well) but I'm sure you could find such a program. It might even be possible to configure ACDsee, Photoshop or Zoombrowser (the Canon software) to do that. But that's beyond my knowledge, sorry.

You may also want to inquire in one of the dpreview forums, either Open Talk or Pro Digital Talk.
