 Roll Eyes

I have a Minolta A200 digital camera . I use a San Disk Ultra 11 512 MB Compant Flash card.  I shoot in raw.

First time occurence when using my card reader, I received a message that the Document Pict0443.MRW could not be opened.  message:

" Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview does'nt recognize".

This is the same for all the  images on the card.

I have a Mac computer versian 10.4.2.

Originally I thought it was the problem with iPhoto 's new upgrade of 5.04 as I have heard people have had problems in this version in opening images.

I thought if I burn the images to a CD I can upload my images from this.  No go - same message appeared as above.

I would like to save these images if I can - as there are some good shots.

Can anybody help.

Hi there sblock, are these images viewable on your camera LCD in playback? If so, try copying your CF images to your computer's harddrive WITHOUT using the transfer software. When your transfer software loads, exit it. Then either click and drag your image folder to your harddrive or copy and paste.

PS: Use a card reader, not your direct camera connection while performing the steps above.

This is a very long shot, but let me offer it anyway.

I'm wondering if your card reader needs a driver because it's being used on a Mac.  It's at least a decade since I switched to a PC from Apple computers and I really haven't kept up. I do know, however, that so many things are geard to Windows, so you may want to check the Apple website or card manufacturer website to see if drivers are needed.
