I just returned from Europe. I took many pictures with my new HP R707. The camera came with softwear so I downloaded it to my laptop. The computer recodnizes the camera, but I continue to get the error message"An error occurred while saving images. Check image capture device connection and try again  Huh I have installed and uninstalled the softwear, changed the device manager, so the computer will see the camera as a disk drive. I continue to get this message, even though the connection to the computer appears to be ok. I even uninstalled the softwear I have with my canon printer. I don't get it. Have any suggestions? Huh

Hello there Gail, here's a work around method that might help. I've had to use these steps myself when my laptop's photo loading software conflicted with my camera's photo transferring software. These steps bypass both softwares. (BTW, if those softwares are set to launch automatically, simply close them, then follow these steps.) Wink

1. attach your camera to your computer and turn the camera on
2. open the camera's media card "drive" icon
3. select the photos you wish to copy to your computer
4. copy the photos to your computer's harddrive
5. "eject" or "disconnect" your camera-to-computer connection
6. turn off your camera

Cheers,
Deb

Hi Gail and welcome,

Have you tried all the steps that HP has listed in the upload troubleshooting page? It would seem the problem is not unheard of.

Actually, I've had this same problem. HP gives you these steps and assumes that they have fixed the problem at the end. These are the same steps I tried before I came to this site. Still have the same problem. Everything is working, each component can see the other, then when I click the button to begin transfer, it stops and gives the error mentioned above. Any help would be most appreciated. It's really frustrating.

Thanks,

Kaylene

Kaylene,

Some of these problems are so camera-specific. Have you tried contact HP? They may be able to solve your problem in  no time.

Hi there Kaylene B,

Have you tried the work around method posted above? Your laptop most likely has its own photo acquiring software running hence the conflict. You could also use a card reader and copy (not transfer) the images that way. I've had to do that before too.  Smiley
