When I shoot pictures I keep my camera at SHQ and 2288 x 1712 because I want the best pictures possible for when I have them printed. They look good when printed and when uploaded to my computer. But they are way to big to send in an e-mail being that size. I was wondering if anyone new how to make them smaller so I could send the images to people through e-mail?

Many image editing programs have built-in features that automatically resize and compress images for emailing. Problem is, sometimes, that the images don't look as well as if you resized them in a program such as Adobe Elements or PaintShop Pro.

Do you have any image editing programs on your computer? If so, which one?

A very good free program to resize and email images is one that I mention often: Picasa2, which will attach images to your email client automatically. The program, when used with another free program "Hello" is made specifically for photo sharing.

There is also a free image resizing utility called pixresizer. You can resize and compuress your images, then manually attach them to an email.
