Hi there,
I have a Canon Powershot A75 which auto-rotates jpgs (optionally)
The images (when saved to pc) aren't staying rotated after I manually rotate them (with either photoshop, image ready, microsoft viewer).
When re-opening them in photoshop it always defaults to the original orientation.

I've tried stripping out the EXIF data with jstrip without success.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Trevor

Hi coast5 and welcome to Digicamhelp!

I'm unfamiliar with the Powershot A75 but I believe it's similar in some respects to the A510 which I own. As I understand auto-rotate, the rotation only occurs when you view images on the LCD or a TV monitor. They do not stay rotated when you transfer them to you computer.

I just tried rotating an image with the software which came with the camera, ZoomBrowser. It rotated images fine. Why it's not working in Photoshop, etc. is strange. Can you give us more information about the problem? Which tool are you using the rotate the images? How are you saving the files after you rotate them?
