Printer compatibility
«

I am a novice and only use my Kodak cx 4310 to send emailed pics to daughters but now want to buy a printer which will be compatible, preferably not the Kodak docker. I see the all in one printer, scanner copier by H P is oj sale but it says camera must be Pictbridge compatible. Will my Kodak cx4310 work with the HP 1315;is my Kodak Pictbridge compatible? I looked in Kodak manual and nothing mentioned except KodaK DOCK,printer, which is natural. Is Pictbridge just normal use of UBS cord with a fancy name? Thanks in advance.

Hi jmlguy and welcome to the Q&A Board. As far as I can tell your CX4310 is not PictBridge compatible. As for exactly what PictBridge is check out this
article.

I'd like to add, that if you don't plan to do basic editing and printing
directly from your camera to a printer
, it doesn't matter if either or both are pictbridge compatible. Pictbridge is just a way to print photos bypassing a computer.
I have a pictbridge compatible printer which works perfectly with both of my digital cameras. One is pictbridge the other is not.
If you transfer your images to a computer via the usb cable, or with a memory card reader, you can print your photos from the computer.
I hope we have answered your question. If not please let us know.
