How do I transfer pictures from my camera to my computer. When I try a message tells me that it is not connected. What do I need to do?

In order to help, please give us more information such as camera and your operating system. Did you install a driver and the viewer program from the CD which came with your digital camera?

The camera is a work issued camera and did not come with any driver or disks. It is a Kodak CX7300 easy share(3.2 mega pixel). Can I still use it with my computer and what do I need to use it?

You can always buy an inexpensive memory card reader. It should accept cards the same type used by your camera. There are single and multicard readers, which are quite inexpensive.

However, before you do that, visit Kodak's site and try their Interactive Troubleshooting Guide. Here's the link for your model camera:

Kodak also has a page for Software Support, and you may be able to download a driver at their site.

I went to the site to download the software and I keep getting an error code. How do I allow my computer to accept this download?

Also, when I connect my camera and turn it on a message comes on and says that the camera is connected. But below that it ask for a program to launch it and there is nothing to select. Is this because I do not have anything installed to run it? Thanks alot!

It was 11x14 or something with those numbers.  When I click on that it tells me to check the security settings. I checked them and I am not sure what to do to allow the downloads.

Yes, that's probably why you can't launch it because you don't have the software. But at least it's now connecting. So try this:

I'm assuming you have a Windows Operating System.

Connect the camera and make sure you have the memory card inserted.

Double click on "My Computer" and see if there is a "Removeable Disk" icon for the camera, similar looking to mine (please note that I have a multicard reader, so there is an icon for each type of memory card:



Next, double click on the icon until you get to the folder which contains the photos you've taken. Then drag and drop the folder onto your icon.  Your folder will look different than mine because I have a different camera.



An important note of caution: DO NOT erase or format the memory card with your computer. Only format the card in the camera.

Try this:

If you're using Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu. From there:

Internet Options > Security tab, then click on the Internet (globe) icon.

Next, click on the Custom Level button. Set the security level to LOW.

Hopefully you'll be able to download the software now. Don't forget to change the security settings back to how you had them.

Do you have a pop-up blocker on? That may be stopping the download. You'll need to shut it off temporarily.
