hello

I have ordered the kodak M753 model
And have been a bit confused over charging the camera with the usb cable..i do not have USB 2.0, which i read somewhere that you have to have this.

If you don't then doe's the computer have to be on, "running" to charge the battery, or as long as it is turned on at the mains, would you just insert the usb cable into the back of the computer. other end in the camera, for it to charge.

Bit Confused

Hi icarly,

I took a quick look at the manual for the M753 and didn't see anything about USB 2 in the battery charging instructions. Just make sure that the USB cable is attached to one of the USB ports on the PC and not to a USB hub (a seperate "multi" port accessory). Make sure the computer is on and not in sleep mode and that the battery charging light is illuminated.

When you say not in sleep mode, do you mean "hibernation" etc.

If the computer is switched on from the mains, but not actually running
And has not been put in hibernation,

And as long as the camera is turned on, should it then charge

And as long as the camera is turned on, should it then charge - I don't know that the camera has to be turned on, just make sure that the charging light comes on.

hello again

I have just been looking at this, which also sounds confusing
About how to recharge the battery

http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/publications/urg00681toc.jhtml?pq-path=10734/10852

Also i forgot to mention i have also ordered a G610 printer dock
Would my camera , be able to charge using this, without having to buy anything else.

I did see this about getting a custom camera insert, or is this if you have a camera that is not compatable with the printer dock.

if you click on the second one "setting up your digital camera" and going to docking & charging.
http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/publications/urg00681toc.jhtml?pq-path=10734/10852

My camera is compatable with this printer , so would my camera just slot on the top , without having to buy anything else

If I understand the specs correctly, it looks like you have three ways to change the camera battery:

-with the usb cable,
- with the AC adapter,
- and when docked in the G610 printer

The guide for the printer, as you pointed out, is here:

http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/publications/urg00681toc.jhtml?pq-path=10734/10852

For instructions on how to dock and charge the camera, click on:

#2 Setting up your digital camera

And then the link:

Docking and charging the camera

According to the instructions:

"Use the custom insert that came with your digital camera to dock the camera. Depending on your camera connector, you may need the Kodak dock adapter kit D-26."

If your camera camera with the custom insert, you shouldn't have to buy anything else.

hello

thanks  ShutterbugGail

thanks for your infomation, about charging with the usb cable.
In the end there was a av cable supplied with it, but when i ordered it
it did say this was not supplied.

I can only think this was because i had ordered the G610 printer dock. as well, so in the end it came as a package....

thanks   Smiley
