My Kodak DX4530 has worked fine until recently;  it takes some pictures, but some are just blank showing the date.  After a week or so of this, it now takes only blank pictures with the date.  No pictures show in the screen, everything is blank whether on screen or downloaded.  Can you help?  Thanks

Hi,

one easy question first. Is the lens cap removed? Wink If your camera has built-in blinds to protect the lens, do they open?

Have you switched the camera to manual metering, or is your camera metering light badly? You could try resetting your camera (check your manual) to see if it helps. Maybe not enough light is coming through the lens and the image looks dar.

Otherwise, it sounds like it's a faulty sensor problem. This can happen, and there is usually little to be done. I would contact Kodak with this, to see if there's a solution. Some companies have decided to repair specific models free of charge because of faulty sensors.

If I'm not mistaken, your camera is about five years old. If the problem is indeed the sensor, it could very well be more cost effective to buy a new camera (and get a brand new warranty) than repair an old one. The only way to know that is to contact Kodak tech support.

Here's some information that may help:
