New owner       Can't get the Func/set button to work right.  Seems that its in a different mode.  Like when i try to erase a picture and press the Func/set, it jumps to cancel instead .

It worked before. Must have some setting wrong. I've read the manual until I'm cross eyed.  thanks for any help.

The function button will show different menus depending on what shooting mode you selected on the dial. For example, if you're in P Mode the menu will look different than if you're in Movie Mode, or Play Mode.

Also, you typically delete images via the Menu  (Menu button).

Can you give us more information about which shooting mode you're in and which way you are trying to delete images?

Try switiching to a different mode and checking. You can also Reset the camera: SET UP menu > RESET ALL (page 24 in the manual). All the camera setting will be reset to the factory default but it may fix any problem you're having.
