Digital cameras 101

Can anybody tell me if there is an MP3 player or IPOD that can be used for jpeg file transfer storage from my DSLR. I'm thinking if away on vacation and don't have a lap top. I know there are portable harddrives, too costly for me. I may be in the market for a new MP3 player  soon & was wondering if one could be used for offloading my CF card...

As far as I know you need to put the files on a computer first before they can be transferred to an iPod or player.

You can download store, and view photos, video and music on Espon Photo Storage Viewers, but they are not cheap. It allows you to backup from 18 types of memory cards and a computer isn't required.

Another consideration is the Hyperdive, though it only downloads image files. It is, however, about half the price of the Epson viewers.

There are storage devices that also serve as MP3 players. :-) An example of one of them can be found here http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs_full.php/masterid=7081912 . I don't have first-hand experience with this device but the specs look interesting.

Hi All.
        I sort of solved my problem tempoarily tonight about extra storage. Out shopping with my wife I came across SanDisk 512 mg CF cards (new in sealed packaging) Reg. $74.95 marked down to $59.95 and now discounted to $5.00 each....... I bought the only 3 they had....This should do me for a while....
