Digital cameras 101

My girlfriend dropped her camera and now when she goes to turn it on, the power button(generally solid green when on) blinks an orange light! weve changed batteries and everything else! any ideas of why?

Perhaps it's blinking red?  Check page 10 of the manual.  Are you also hearing 3 beeps?  Or was the beep feature turned off in the menu?

My guess is that the drop did damage to the camera that may be repairable, but may not be worth it...

Any other details you can add, like whether or not anything appears on the screen, whether you can take pictures even though the LED keeps blinking, etc, may help us troubleshoot.
