I have a Canon Power Shot SD600 Digital Elph. I have taken pictures, pictures in movie mode, and video clips. I have formatted  the memory card and now they are all gone. The file for the movie mode is 1GB.

My question is this can I get back all my pictures, pictures in movie mode and video clips by using a program Card Recovery?

The website is www.cardrecovery.com

Has anyone used this program?

Is it hard to get all the pictures, pictures in movie mode, and video clips back?

Is my camera, and memory card SanDisk compatible with this program? Can I get back all that I listed?

Can anyone help me?

My e-mail is TheHurricane1228@aol.com

Thanks

Hi MarvelHeroes and welcome to the Q&A Board!

Have no fear, a recovery software can often retrieve lost files from memory cards. The one you mentioned sounds like it'll handle the files you've lost but I don't have first-hand experience with this software. Their website does indicate a free demo. Have you contacted them by any chance?

What type of SanDisk card do you have? The software's website indicates that is supports compact flash, memory card, securedigital, etc. card types.

As long as the formats of your files matches the list they provide on their site, you stand a very good chance of recovering your files.

Hi,

just a few more comments :

1-depending on the way your camera formats the card, you might or might not recover any lost data. If the camera simply erases the FAT, then the information is still there, and the recovery fortwares should find it (I've had experience with two such programs, they generally work well). If your camera formatted by erasing the whole data on the card, then it's another story, and you're probably out of luck. However, most cameras don't do that.

2-give the program time, it can be pretty long to analyse a card

3-it's not every program that can recover a movie, if the one you mentionned doesn't do it, try another one (like PC inspector)

good luck!
