Hi nelson,

Welcome to the Q&A Board.

A few questions.

What type of camera do you have and what type of battery does it use: standard or a non-standard one?

If standard, have you started using a different type of battery recently? Lithium batteries are known to heat and are not suitable for use in all digital cameras.

Have you called the manufacturer to see if their is a service advisory on the camera? For example, HP has issues a firmware upgrade recently for one of their cameras to prevent a fire hazard. If that camera is used with a non-rechargeable lithium battery and then connected to the AC adapter or docking station, the battery may overheat and possible catch fire.

Whatever the case, discontinue use of your camera until you discuss the situation with the camera manufacturers tech support.
