Canon S2 remote video
«

Does anybody know how can I shoot video directly to computer with the Canon S2?
The still picture remote shooting works well, but the video would be a necessity because of limited space on my 1GB SD card. I think the hardware is able(USB 2.0), but I need a software update or driver. Thanks . Zs

From my experience, ZoomBrowser and Remote Capture do not allow this. There might be other softwares that allow for video capture, but they would be third-party with all this implies regarding compatibility.
There are also third-parties software that can capture a video stream on-screen. That could be an option, as the camera displays a live preview which could then be captured. I don't know about the quality, however, and I can't point out any specific software.
However, you could consider getting a card reader and a second memory card, maybe of a smaller size. That way you would only loose a few seconds every 8 minutes or so while you swap cards, and you could take your time downloading the movie files to the computer. That strikes me as the best way to do it.
