Hi Steve and welcome,

Really, there's no need to yell, we'll try to be helpful if we can. Wink  Roll Eyes

As to your question, I personally don't have any first hand knowledge of the camera you're looking at but I can suggest that you go through some reviews before you buy. Here are three I found with a quick Google.

Hopefully that will get you some good information. You might also want to poke around on those sites and see what else might be available. Not trying to dissuade you from your current interest just pointing out the options.

Good Luck.

The Sony DSC-W7 has gotten some excellent reviews. It is suited for a novice but has advanced features you can grow into. If it has the features you want and the price is right, Sony makes fine digital cameras.

I always have one major concern about Sony digicams, which should be of no concern to you if you already use Sony products. It uses proprietary Memory Card Sticks, which (as far as I know) are not compatible with any other brand digital camera. For example, my last three digital cameras all used Secure Digital cards even though two were made by different manufacturers. I didn't have to go out and buy a new card and most likely won't have to if I get another camera in the future. So factor this in when making your decision.

btw, for those who may not realize it, typing an entire message in all caps indicates "shouting" when posting in forums. It is not considered good netiquette though everyone completely understands if you didn't realize it the time you made a post.
