Use when holding the camera above your head, such as taking photos in a crowd, change to LCD setting to High Angle mode which makes the screen very easy to see when held at an angle.

You won’t forget to shut this mode off. When High Angle mode is enabled and the camera is held normally, you can hardly view the screen.

Low Angle

Well, there really isn’t an official Low Angle mode on the FZ18 and other camera with the feature.  But to take shots at low angles, simply turn the camera upside down when in High Angle mode.

Images remain right-side up thanks to the camera’s orientation sensor.

Better than nothing

While the High Angle mode is not as effective, versatile or easy to use as a variable angle LCD that can be twisted and tilted in many directions, High Angle mode certainly better having no option for taking photos at odd angles.
