Every now and then I come across images that absolutely take my breath away. I recently discovered Portraits from the Congo, published in the Boston Globe.
They are so compelling, so poignant that nothing I write can express their beauty.
You simply need to see them for yourself!
The photos were taken by Reuters photographer Finbarr O’Reilly, who is based in Senegal and has taken many other wonderful pictures in Africa - he was awarded the World Press Photo of the Year in 2006 for his picture of a mother and child at a feeding centre in Niger.
