If you’re new to digital photography and looking for a suitable book about the subject, 40 Digital Photography Techniques from YoungJin.com may be exactly what you’re looking for.
I bought the book several years ago, when I was transitioning from a 35mm camera to digital. As I looked through other digital photography books on the store shelves, the hundreds of pages of technical jargon were just too overwhelming.
40 Digital Photography Techniques provides just enough information to get a good, general understanding of digital photography. It offers tips for taking better photos and getting creative with a digital camera. Besides covering basic camera features, topics include composing good shots, playing with light, close-ups, self-portraits, action shots and event photography. The topics are grouped together making the book suitable as a quick reference guide.
No one particular section of the book stands out as better than the other. All are equally as good. Very basic, but very good.
If you’re and experienced digital photographer looking for in-depth information, this book is definitely not for you. But beginners will fine it quite helpful. You’ll find yourself referring to it time and again.
I highly recommend this book for novice digital camera users. It is is now in it’s third edition so I’m sure the photos have been given a much needed face lift.
