SD800 repair issues

Posted by | 4 Comments ..

Hopefully, you become aware of these issues while you still have time to exchange a defective camera for a new one. Or at least before the warranty ends.

LCD Screen not flush

A large number of SD800 users have reported that the bezel frame in the upper right hand corner of the LCD screen is not flush. Some accept that this is just how the camera is built. Others have exchanged or returned the camera because of it.

Dust spots

Very soft images

Some units produce very soft images; SD800 users have returned their camera and the problem does not exist in the new unit.

Make sure you don’t have the screen shut off, either with the Display button or in the menus. Try hitting the reset button or take the battery out for several minutes. Make sure the battery is charged. If none of these work, contact Canon tech support.

No ray, this is simply a site to help people learn about digital photography and digital cameras.  If you’re in the U.S., you can get Canon support and phone numbers here:

    http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportIndexAct

In my experience, it’s better to call them by phone rather than email, etc. I’ve written about it here.

    Glad you stopped by!
