The A57o is a pretty straightforward, easy to use compact digital camera. Here are a few suggestions for using it.
AiAF/Face Recognition
Like some other features found on digital cameras, Face Recognition technology seems to work best when light is good. I only turn FD on when taking photos of people. If no faces are detected in a scene, the camera shoots in AiAF mode. AiAF is not as reliable at focusing as when using single area focus.
Using the A570 flash
The flash can be painfully slow, especially if not using fully charged batteries. So use them, The flash does go off slowly but continuously when using the flash. Flash recyle times are better when shooting in continuous mode.
LCD
The LCD needs a screen protector. I use an “anti-glare” protector to help reduce glare when the sun hits it. Even then, there are times when you can’t see the screen. Thank goodness the camera has a tiny viewfinder to use in a pinch.
