A570IS ~ overall impressions
I bought a Canon A570IS as a relatively inexpensive replacement for my daughter's A510 . For someone who has little interest in fussing with digital camera settings, the A510 has served my daughter very well. I know the A570 will too. I remain impressed by these small but feature-packed digital cameras that cost around $200 U.S.
The A570 is basically the same as the A510. Hoever, it has a number of improved features such as larger LCD, Image Stabilization and Face Detection technology.
One thing that hasn't improved is the flash recylce time but it's not much different than other digital cameras in its class.
Like the A510, the A570IS provides a good balance between size and ergonomics. It's compact and even has a grip to make it easy to hold. Both have features that many other point and shoots lack, namely a viewfinder and manual and semi-automatic controls.
If you're a new or casual user, you'll be hard-pressed to find a digital camera with as many features and image quality for the money! It is a little gem.
Of course, I'll be using the A570 for some time before handing it over to my daughter.
