Disappearing viewfinders

You may not realize it until the box is opened that your new digital camera doesn't have a viewfinder. A number of manufacturers have eliminated them on compact cameras that sport large LCDs.

Even if a camera has a viewfinder, many prefer to use the LCD when framing shots. However, a common problem digital camera users face is camera shake. Even slight camera movement increases the chance that an image will be blurred.

It is easier to hold a camera steady using a viewfinder because you can brace the camera against your face. Use of a LCD increases the likelihood of camera shake because it must be held away from the face.

It is important to hold a digital camera correctly when using the LCD to compose shots.
