Sony is recalling its CyberShot DSC-T5 digital camera after identifying a fault in the metal skin covering the base of the camera. The base can peel away and the sharp edge can cut or scratch the user.
Affected cameras have serial numbers between 3500001 and 3574100.
Sony will fix any covered cameras free of charge and reimburse you for costs if you have already replaced the part. If related out of warranty repair was handled by the Sony Service facility in Laredo, Texas, owners will receive a check automatically by September 30, 2007.
If owners paid for an out of warranty repair through a third party, they may submit a reimbursement request.
