Gail Bjork
Gail Bjork, the owner and editor of Digicamhelp, created the site to help educate others about digital cameras and photography. A former art educator, she has been involved in education most of her life.
Gail is the author of several illustrated ebooks about digital photography. Three, Essential TopTips for taking Better Photos with Your Digital Camera and TopTips for Photographing Online Auction Products and Photographing Your Home with a Digital Camera, are sold in the Camera Shop at this site. Take Better Property Photos Today is about how to take photos of real estate property. It was commissioned exclusively for use by Kyero Estate Agents in Spain. She has also written digital photography related articles for Dochara, Notebook Review and Outfront Webmasters.
In 2006, a series of Gail's photos, People in the Louvre, were exhibited at the Underground Photo Gallery in Iisalmi Finland. Some of her photos taken in the Florida scrub are in a permanent exhibition at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Florida. Photos Gail took during trips to Ireland are used at the Ireland Escorted, Dochara and InKK Design websites.
From 1984 to 1996, Gail served as an elected member of The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida, one of the largest school districts in the U.S. At the time she served, the district had approximately 135,000 students, 14,000 employees and 135 schools. Gail was one of seven officials who made district-wide policy decisions and helped oversee its $1.4 billion budget.
Gail and her husband owned several small businesses. Gail was also editor of a small town newspaper, a free-lance writer and wrote feature stories as a stringer for a major paper for a time.
